Hill Country State Natural area have 40miles of trail on a 5400ac gorgous pice of hill country land. Here we are happy to offer Cowboy Campout, sleeping underneeth the stars, cowboy cookout and songs of course. We are happy to customize your private group at anytime you wish. Please contact us for a quote. We do have planned Cowboy Camps as well, and they can be booked online (max 8ppl)

The Campout Includes
Horses and camping gear, bedroll and tent upon request, guide and meals provided. Entrance and camping fee for one night at the park. When there is no burn-ban, we will do campfire with logs, when burn ban we bring Gas Grill. For Private Cowboy Campout we will plan the riding time is flexible to your preference, riding skill and season. We have lots of exiting ideas so contact us for Itinerary and Quote

Restrictions
Riders must be of 12 years old or older and have previous riding experience considered to be intermediate rider (can control a horse in walk and trot). Rules and regulations of the park must at all point be followed.

Bandera Historical Rides do everything we can to guarantee satisfaction, however we cannot control the weather. If the weather condition is such that we are not able to ride, riders do not have to pay the full fee

About the Location

That’s what Louise Lindsey Merrick, owner of the Bar-O Ranch, requested when she donated portions of her land over a seven-year period to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. First opened to the public in 1984,

This location is by far the largest area of riding you will find. The park has 40 miles trails of absolute everything you expect in the Texas Hill Country! Amazing scenery, climbs, scenic and rugged mosaic of rocky hills, flowing springs, oak groves and grasslands.

At this location we offer several different rides, and also thrilling Camp out with horses under Texas Sky, it cannot be more Cowboy than that!
