HILL COUNTRY STATE NATURAL AREA
In the 70's the Bar o Ranch where donated to Public use, and Texas parks and wildlife took on the Legacy to preserve this stunning piece of Hill land. Rolling Hills and meadow gives the authentic feel for the hill country terrain. Here we offer rides from 2h to Campout
Duaration
We meet minimum 15min prior to ride for orientation. The ride is then 2-3h
Restrictions
Min age 10 years and up. No first time riders, but Sunset ride and 2h ride is suitable for confident beginner to advanced. 3h Ride and Half Day Ride only Intermediate-Advanced Riders. No double riding. Max 220lbs. Per pre-reservation only, same day reservation can be made if we have availability. Private rides the pace can be adjusted to the least experienced in the group
Ameneties
There is a public restroom by the Trail Head. We have saddle bags and provide a bottle of water. Picnic tables are available by headquarter parking where we meet
The Trail
The scenery is stunning, terrain is rocky and rough and with elevation, a smaller section of farmland and small creek is available too. There is 40 miles of trails on almost 5400ac so lots of routs to choose from. If booking a Private Ride, please feel free to leave requests to the Guide

Overnight Rides at the State Natural Area
At the State Natural area there is also the option of arranging Overnight Stays. Chapa Campsite for Cowboy Campouts (Intermediate to Advanced riders only), where we sleep in bedrolls underneath the stars. Or the Lodge for making a Glamping Vacation in the 1930s Farm house located in a beautiful canyon (suitable for confident beginner to advanced)
